What the Data States (Not What It Implies)
Right now, in our panel, Mali's country-level research surface is losing attention share while its city-level research surface is gaining it. Users arriving at Mali-related content are increasingly landing on city pages rather than country pages. The planning-research stage, in other words, is currently being entered further down the funnel than it was two weeks ago.
That is a descriptive statement about where demand is landing today. It is not a claim that total demand for Mali is up (the country layer says the opposite), nor a claim that any single city is driving the city-layer figure. The 57.1% is a category aggregate. What the data establishes is a shape change in how Mali is being researched, not a verdict on Mali's overall trajectory.
For industry professionals watching this market, the useful read is that top-of-funnel country queries are a weakening signal for Mali demand at the moment, while city-level queries are a strengthening one. Anyone whose forecasting model, marketing attribution, or content prioritization treats country-level interest as the lead indicator for Mali is currently working from the wrong layer. Reweighting toward city-level signals is the conservative response to a divergence this wide. Committing capacity or spend on the assumption that the city increase implies a country-wide rebound is not supported by the data in front of us.

Methodology
Data comes from Prospxct's proprietary travel intelligence panel, a network of 500+ destination-specific travel planning sites, each covering a single city, country, or region. All sites run on an unified analytics stack, allowing us to compare relative traffic patterns across destinations on a like-for-like basis.
For this study, we compare total traffic across two consecutive 14-day windows at both the country level and the city level, surfacing destinations where the two cohorts have diverged materially over the period.
We report percentages, ratios, and rankings, not absolute traffic volumes. All data reflects observed planning behaviour (users actively researching activities and logistics), not booking transactions or airport arrivals.
